National Park KORNATI

In the central part of the Croatian Adriatic, at the confluence of the Šibenik and Zadar islands, there is a separate and in many ways special group of islands called Kornati.

It is a larger part of the Kornati waters, which in 1980, due to its exceptional landscape beauty, interesting geomorphology, great indentation of the coast and rich marine ecosystem, was declared a national park.

The Kornati archipelago covers an area of about 320 km2. This most indented island ecosystem in the Adriatic Sea has 89 islands, islets and reefs. They were named after the largest island of Kornati.
Due to its uninhabitedness and wilderness, untouched nature and extraordinary beauty, the Kornati are attractive to many tourists and important for the development of excursion, sports and nautical tourism.
